It is with my deepest regrets that I must make notification of the passing of the Yonkers City Post 1666 VFW Past Quartermaster, James F. Wall. Jimmy, a World War II Veteran was 96 years old when he passed away peacefully on Monday (7/06/2020). He was a lifelong resident of the City of Yonkers. Educated at St. Mary's, Ben Franklin JHS and Saunders Trade School before enrolling in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC Camp). Jimmy enlisted in the U.S. Navy at 17 years old and prior to WW II. After the war he proudly served with the Westchester County Parkway Police and was a charter member of the Police Emerald Society, and a Life Member of the VFW Post #1666. Afterwards he worked for Liberty Lines in the Airport Limousine service. He is pre-deceased by his parents James F. Wall Sr and Irene (White) Wall, brothers Pierce, Bobby and William; and survived by his sister Marie Warner, and sister in law Lorraine (William) Wall of Yonkers. His son James G. Wall (Kathleen) Swanzey, NH, and grandchildren Matthew and Katharine. He is being waked at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday July 9th at 10am. celebrated in St. Mary's of the Immaculate Conception located at 103 South Broadway. Burial services will follow at St. Mary's cemetery located at 114 Sprain Road.
Jimmy Wall you will most definitely be missed.
