Donald served in the United States Marine Corp from 14 November 2004 to 18 December 2008. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion 9th Marines and deployed two times to Iraq where he earned his eligibility into the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In September 2010, Donald joined the Vermont National Guard serving with the 1st Cavalry Headquarters until May 2015. He Joined the Yonkers City Post No. 1666 V.F.W. in 2015 and has served as Building Committee Chair and Post Trustee. "Murph." was voted in as Post 1666 Sr. Vice Commander in April of 2021
